Weezer Go Old School With “Take On Me” Music Video

Weezer are continuing their ascension into the world of becoming a living meme with the release of their latest music video for “Take On Me.” Starring the always fun bunch of misfits Finn Wolfhard, Ayla Tesler-Mabe, Malcolm Craig, and Jack Anderson better known as the band Calpurnia, the Carrick Moore Gerety directed music video tells the tale of a young Rivers Cuomo coming into his own with the creation of Weezer, in a very fun and playfully old school way.

Featured on the band’s latest release, The Teal Album, “Take On Me” and its music video are a beautiful ode to the greater days when band’s like A-ha reigned supreme, and features the former’s timeless live action to pencil animation style in what will effortlessly become a wonderful homage to the 80’s pop rock band.

Being a huge fan of Weezer’s latest cover album, which features other amazing songs such as “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, “Happy Together” by The Turtles, and many more, I’m really hoping we’ll get another cover-based album sometime in the future. If Weezer were to release another cover album, what songs would you like to see them take on?

Following the release of The Teal Album, Weezer will also release their thirteenth album, The Black Album, on March 1 which will also include a full North American tour.
