FFN Become Glamorous With New Single “Ugly”

Nashville pop-rockers FFN has signed with InVogue Records, and to celebrate have released a brand new single titled, “Ugly.” “Ugly” will be featured on the band’s upcoming EP Such Is Life which is looking at an August 2 release date. Accompanying their brand new single, FFN has also released a playful music video that showcases the three-piece enjoying the glam life. It’s a fun song, a fun music video, and I’m already expecting fun stories from these three.

While talking about new single “Ugly,” frontman Matheus Amado explained, “I was in a relationship with a girl at the time and she called me crying at 3 am because some girls she worked with were making fun of her hair or makeup. I was trying to calm her down but she was just so upset and said “I feel ugly do you know what it’s like?” then I replied with “I feel ugly all the time.”

That phone call would later on and spark what has become “Ugly,” as Amado continues, “that’s what started the inspiration for the song. I originally wrote the song with the intent of being ironic, however, I think it resonates with a lot of people too. Like, sometimes I wake up in the morning and all day I’ll just feel gross, ugly, or uncomfortable. I can’t really give any justification as to why I do, but it just happens. I also wanted to express that it’s okay to be insecure because everyone, no matter if you’re in a relationship or have thousands of Instagram followers, they all have insecurities.”

I have to agree with Matheus Amado on the matter, there are tons of days where I feel like a complete mess, and there’s no rhyme or reason behind it. Either way, if you’d like to bring “Ugly” with you to remind you you’re not alone, you can find it on all major music services.
