TRUSTY World Tour Review: YUGYEOM Takes Over The El Rey Theatre For Night 1 Of His Los Angeles Takeover

GOT7's YUGYEOM took over the intimate El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles for night 1 of his 2025 'TRUSTY World Tour' LA takeover.

Continuing the celebrations surrounding his latest album, 2024’s TRUST ME, GOT7’s YUGYEOM embarked on an ambitious world tour that took the idol across parts of the globe. Finally, the TRUSTY World Tour was brought to North America and LATAM, with the United States portion concluding with two nights at Los Angeles’ intimate El Rey Theatre. YUGYEOM was determined to visit his dedicated fans before beginning his military service later this year.

I had the pleasure of attending night one of YUGYEOM’s El Rey Theatre takeover and couldn’t be more excited to experience a member of GOT7 for the first time, especially after watching countless videos of the raw energy YUGYEOM brought to his solo live performances. I arrived decently early to the venue in hopes of securing a decent spot within the venue. But, thankfully, the venue being so intimate guaranteed a great view from any spot throughout the room.

Quickly leaving our parking spot, my wife and I made our way to the venue’s marquee, where other fans from the show’s VIP and general line could be seen taking a multitude of photos with YUGYEOM’s name front and center. To say we were all fired up for the night’s performance would be an understatement.

The weather throughout the day was perfect for a Spring show towards the heart of Los Angeles, and the fans arriving would all prove to be just as chill and friendly, two in particular being Justine and Will, who we would end up creating a makeshift show group with throughout the night leading to fun memories and the true reason why concerts are always fun. You never know who you might become friends with.

The time would slog on until finally 7 PM would round the corner and us in the general line would begin to make our way into the quickly filling venue floor. Venue staff, for the most part, were all friendly and made the wait for YUGYEOM taking the stage feel like the snap of a finger.

With 8 PM popping its head in, DJ Wegun took the stage and got the party going as Ahgase began to scream and get their dance feet going before the man himself would beautifully take to the stage with “I Want You Around,” that had everyone in the El Rey Theatre losing their collective minds.

YUGYEOM would begin to dance his heart out, throwing massive amounts of energy into the crowd while the crowd matched that high energy themselves, creating a perfect combination between artist and fan, making for a wonderful way for memories to form as YUGYEOM would focus heavily on crowd interaction throughout his entire set.

“LOLO” and “WOOYAYAYA” would truly mark the beginning of YUGYEOM’s Los Angeles party, as it also marks the spot where I would start the downfall of losing my voice as the night progressed. Like the man himself would joke, his songs are incredibly catchy and easy to learn, as we all sang each lyric back at YUGYEOM as he would smile throughout each sing-along moment.

Night one of YUGYEOM’s TRUSTY World Tour stop at the El Rey Theatre was filled with so many smiles, screams, and of course barking, which YUGYEOM himself would bark back, creating a playful atmosphere that truly set the night a part. One thing is for sure: this is an artist who loves what he does, creating memories for himself and his fans.

The setlist throughout the night was filled with amazing tracks from YUGYEOM’s latest TRUST ME album, with an amazing selection of songs taken from across his catalog sprinkled throughout. Sadly for many, “Running Through The Rain” would not be a part of the night’s setlist.

YUGYEOM would, of course, also express his excitement for being back in Los Angeles after 6 years and wanted everyone at the show to have the time of their lives, hoping to create amazing energy throughout his performance, which no shocker to anyone, we all managed to do for him, which resulted in a crazy fun live show experience that further proves that smaller intimate shows are still king.

YUGYEOM would go on to perform “Dance,” “Steppin,” and “SHINE,” just to name a few more of the high-energy songs he would perform throughout the electrifying night. Constantly interacting with fans, whether it be directly or getting the crowd heated up with a variety of risque poses.

YUGYEOM would also give DJ Wegun his own time to shine with a complete high-energy set that got the crowd transforming into a small rave-experience for a few minutes as he brought the night to new heights with a variety of remixes that got the crowd further on their feet, jumping, losing their voices, and keeping the night on fire while YUGYEOM prepared for the next part of his performance.

“Be Alright,” “All About U,” and “Sweet Like” would follow as YUGYEOM continued to create long-lasting memories for his dedicated fans, flashing his smile, giving praise, and just further strikingly showcasing his own showmanship.

The night was quickly coming to a close as YUGYEOM would teach all of us the hook of his unreleased song, “Set Me Free,” which ended up being one of my favorite songs of the night. The energy, of course, from Ahgase was beautiful, and the connection between the fans and YUGYEOM was raw, passionate, and special on a variety of levels.

I’ve been to a handful of solo artists’ sets before. But, YUGYEOM’s has so far been the best, and I look forward to sharing the energy with the GOT7 fan base again, whether it be at another solo performance of one of its members, or for GOT7 themselves. YUGYEOM showcased an enormous mountain of energy and passion, so I can only imagine how he is when he’s together with the other members.

YUGYEOM would wrap up the base part of his set with “LA SOL MI,” “Love The Way,” and my personal favorite, “1 MINUTE.” Sharing the heavy weight of leaving the stage with his fans, roars for an inevitable encore would begin, with YUGYEOM wasting zero time to ensure everyone gets home in a timely manner. He would jokingly ask if we were all sure if we wanted him to perform even more. Of course, we all screamed, “YES.”

YUGYEOM would waste zero time before coming back out sporting his custom Los Angeles Lakers jersey that was gifted to him, further showcasing his love for the City of Angels.

The crowd would feel the heat with “WUH,” as YUGYEOM and his dancers would continue to jump around across the stage, giving both sets of the crowd tons of love and attention while pulling off a final hurrah to send everyone home happy. Of course, we would all take the always fun final photo with YUGYEOM as members of his crew could be seen on stage showing off smiles of their own as this talented artist lost himself in the amazing energy being thrown his way.

As one final treat, YUGYEOM would perform GOT7’s “Hard Carry,” an amazing way to wrap up a night filled with joy, high energy, tears, and plenty of screaming memories. It truly was a night I and I know others will not quickly forget as we all begin the dreaded handshake that is post-concert depression. Unless, of course, you’re reliving the night all over again with night two.

YUGYEOM’s night one of the TRUSTY World Tour at the El Rey Theatre was filled with amazing music, awe-inspiring dancing, a sensational DJ, and memories that will last us all a lifetime. I’m already regretting not being there for night two, as I’m sure everyone is in for a treat yet again as YUGEYOM continues to carve out his legacy.

Tickets for night two of the TRUSTY World Tour takeover of the El Rey Theatre are currently sold out, but I’m sure you’ll be able to grab last-minute tickets if you search hard enough for them.
