5 Seconds Of Summer Release Infectious Single “Teeth”

Pop-rockers 5 Seconds of Summer has unleashed their latest and most infectious single to date titled, “Teeth.” Released earlier today via Interscope Records, “Teeth” was produced by Andrew Watt and Louis Bell, and is the band’s continuation into the darker soundscapes teased within their summer hit, “Easier.”

Featuring Prophets of Rage guitarist Tom Morello soloing throughout the new single, “Teeth” is by far the best thing I’ve heard from 5 Seconds of Summer in quite a bit of time. It might be time to get my 5SOS shirts out of retirement. Accompanying the release of their new single is a fantastic music video directed by Thibaut Duverneix, which features the band taking part in a few conscious-altering experiments as well as their inevitable escape.

While speaking about “Teeth,” vocalist Luke Hemmings shared; “‘Teeth” came about after a month or two long blur of writing and pushing ourselves to go a step further than Youngblood. It was a tumultuous time in my life and the lyrics in the song definitely reflect that. It speaks lyrically about a trying time in my current relationship. Musically it’s another step forward from “Easier” and really embraces industrial sound and rhythms.”

“Collaborating with Ryan Tedder was incredible as was Andrew Watt, Ali Tamposi & Lou Bell. “Teeth” captures the soul of 5 Seconds of Summer and I truly believe it is a unique song to us as a band and doesn’t sound like anything out at the moment. It’s my favorite song we’ve released ever and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Seriously, I’m sure the lyrics “fight so dirty but your love so sweet. Talk so pretty but your heart got teeth” will be stuck in everyone’s head throughout the day. I know “Teeth” is already replaying over and over again in my own head.
