Maddie Regent Gets Colorfully Playful In “Sleeptalking” Music Video

Maddie Regent sets the board for her next move; a beautifully relatable new single titled "Sleeptalking" that will keep you hitting repeat.

Brooklyn-based pop artist Maddie Regent has been hard at work creating her next moves after the release of her sophomore EP, Girl of Your Dreams, and has finally unleashed the first piece of that vision in the form of her new single, “Sleeptalking.”

Her new single, created alongside producer and songwriter Cade Hoppe as well as additional production from Harper James of Eighty Ninety sees Maddie in a confused state as she traverses the in-between of being happy while not feeling the sense of warmth that comes with the sensation.

The music video for “Sleeptalking,” directed by Anna Koblish perfectly captures the mental gymnastics that themes the walls of Maddie Regent’s latest single, creating a beautiful and whimsical styling while casting inner doubt. It’s a stunning music video that only serves to compliment the song’s complex and yet relatable undertones.

On the single itself, Maddie exclaims, “‘Sleeptalking” is about wanting to be happy about something you should be happy about, but you aren’t. And the longer you avoid confrontation, the more you wish for things to go sound so your unhappiness feels justified. It’s classic self-sabotage and you know it.”

Quickly becoming an artist to keep your eyes on, I’m perfectly excited to see and hear what Maddie Regent has next on her chess board of songs.
