Your Favorite Color Reintroduces ’80s Classic, “Hold Me Now”

Alt-rockers Your Favorite Color take on the Thompson Twins' classic '80s mega-hit "Hold Me Now."

Indie alt-rock hopefuls, Your Favorite Color have put their unique spin on an ’80s classic by the Thompson Twins by taking on their commercial mega-hit, “Hold Me Now.”

Packaged as a surprise for fans for reaching over 10,000 followers on Instagram, Your Favorite Color’s take on the classic vibe anthem is filled with alternative flair, bringing the classic to the modern era while keeping the track’s flavorful aspects intact.

When it comes to covering the Thompson Twins’ “Hold Me Now,” Your Favorite Color shares, “The band has always drawn inspiration from the 80s. “Hold Me Now” was a track we noticed hadn’t been covered many times before. We thought we’d take a crack at it, and we’re happy with the outcome.”

As a sucker for covers, I absolutely loved the band’s take on “Hold Me Now.” It’s a fresh take on the original and gives it a proper introduction to our modern age while not straying too far from the original concepts and ideas the Thompson Twins put towards making the original. Now, I want the group to tackle another “not so noticed” ’80s song for a future milestone! But, I’ll settle for a new tour sometime soon as well.

You can now stream Your Favorite Color’s cover of “Hold Me Now” across streaming platforms as well as the band’s latest studio album, For You.
