Something Corporate Is Feeling “Happy” In Upbeat New Single

Something Corporate is brightening up the summer with their new, upbeat single, "Happy."

Something Corporate continues to make waves in 2024 with the release of their new, upbeat single, “Happy.” Credited of course alongside frontman Andrew McMahon’s “Wilderness” project, the new single is bright, catchy, and filled with high notes and vibrant instrumentals. The perfect companion piece to the previously released, “Death Grip.”

Produced and mixed by the wonderful Luke Nicoli with co-production by Andrew McMahon and Daniel Omelio. Of course, if you’d like to sing along with Andrew and the rest of Something Corporate ahead of their current headlining tour, the band has you covered with a fully bloomed-lyric video.

On the topic of “Happy,” Something Corporate and In The Wilderness frontman, Andrew McMahon shares, “I wrote “Happy” toward the end of the pandemic. There was this sense that we were all coming out of this strange moment collectively and I wanted to write something that reflected that. There was this aching for normalcy, a humble kind of happiness where you could just be, without confronting a four-alarm fire every other day. Years later I think that sentiment still makes a lot of sense.”

“For me, the magic of this song is in the visuals and vignettes of everyday life in my weird little beach town and the return to a production style that includes super distorted guitars. There’s something in the message of “Happy” and in its lyrical and aesthetic ties to Southern California that always made it feel like a Something Corporate song. I’m glad I held it back from the last Wilderness record and that it ended up at home in the studio with Brian, Will, Josh, and Clutch.”

The sentiment behind Something Corporate’s new song seems to resonate with the band’s online fan base as a sense of overpowering joy has circled this new release. I know I’ve been jamming to “Happy” all day.
