Gold Steps Release “Empty Space” Music Video

Austin based pop punk band Gold Steps have revealed their latest single, “Empty Space,” with an emotionally charged music video (via The Noise) directed by TimeKeeper Media. Inspired by the loss of her grandfather, frontwoman Liz Mauritz put all of her feelings within “Empty Space,” which is about losing a significant other, missing their presence, their smile, and their laugh. Something the video portrays in a beautifully sad way.

While talking about their latest single Mauritz stated: “Seeing my grandmother cope with my grandfather passing devastated me; their marriage was the bar I set for my own, and I can’t imagine losing my other half. The pain of losing a loved one is universal, and “Empty Space” is about the aftermath and anguish of life moving on while you’re stuck in the cycle of grief.”

The music video itself is a beautiful testament for everyone and anyone who is experiencing loss, and the dread that comes with having to move on. Gold Steps and TimeKeeper Media did a wonderful job at putting together the single’s music video. Also, the track itself regardless of its subject matter is wonderful, and I’m already adding it to a variety of my playlists. A beautiful track indeed.
