Reunited pop-punkers As It Is are charging head first into 2025 with a reimagined take on their hit, “Dial Tones,” promptly titled, “Dial Tones X” that sees the pop-punk misfits bringing the bright-toned piece a little closer to the aggressive, raw era of The Great Depression in beautiful fashion.
This new take on “Dial Tones” comes on the heels of As It Is celebrating the upcoming 10th anniversary of the band’s debut album, Never Happy, Ever After. To help them celebrate, the pop-punk band has enlisted the talents of Holding Absence vocalist, Lucas Woodland.
“Dial Tones X” perfectly updates the As It Is classic, keeping true to the original’s overall playfulness while bringing it forward in a new direction, keeping up with the band’s more modern, aggressive, and raw styling. Frontman Patty Walters’ aged voice echoes somberly through the mind while hopscotching peacefully between guitarist Ben Biss and Lucas Woodland.
Online reception for the “Dial Tones” rework has also been positive, as fans show their support for the band’s new flavor.
On the reworking of “Dial Tones” itself, As It Is shares, “This band has always been about growth and progression, about never doing the same thing twice. As our discography evolved, many people were surprised the band that once made “Dial Tones” also made The Great Depression – so, this is “Dial Tones” by the band that made The Great Depression.”
“Dial Tones X” is available now to stream across your favorite streaming platforms. As It Is will continue to celebrate 10 years of Never Happy, Ever After as the band is set to perform at the Slam Dunk festival in Hatfield and Leeds on May 24 and May 25 with tickets still available.
