Dead Fall Release “Drowned Out” Music Video

Kent, Ohio natives Dead Fall have released a new music video for their song “Drowned Out,” from the five piece’s upcoming EP, Never Expected, to be released on January 25 through all major streaming services. I’ll be quite clear, this is my first time listening to the pop punk hopefuls, and I’d have to say I’m already hooked and can’t wait to check out their upcoming release. “Drowned Out,” is a fast-paced, in your face blast of attitude that the genre seems to forget is allowed to take part in, which we thankfully have Dead Fall around to remind us all.

Alongside the track being a fond listen, and a song I highly recommend for those looking for more personality-based pop punk tunes that can carry their own weight, the marvelous “retro, band in a garage” music video directed by Alex Zarek is also a nice refresher from the now usual “green screen everything” music videos of the future. The video itself is shot nicely and keeps you close to the action while the band do their thing, which also should give a glimpse of the high energy presence they should have on stage as well.

While talking about “Drowned Out,” drummer Nick Barker said, “Drowned Out is a song that captures a unique transitional period in my life. After the exit of a long term partner that was deeply ingrained into my every day life, I began to question what was good for me and wonder if the tings I had built my life around were true at all.

Being the first time I truly experienced this kind of loss and heartbreak, I was forced to come to terms with the fact that people can and will choose to remove you from their lives in an instant when you lease expect it. I also got to feel the bond between my friends, family, and I grow stronger than I could have imagined as they supported me through it. In the end, I have come to value both experiences. They’ve helped shape the person I am today, and I couldn’t be happier with myself.”

If you’re digging “Drowned Out” by Dead Fall make sure you check out their new EP, Never Expected, when it’s released on January 25. Also, if you’re looking to check out their onstage presence for yourself, you can check them out at any of these dates:
