blink-182 To Take Over Frank Ocean’s Sunday Night Coachella Headline Slot?

Frank Ocean pulls out of Coachella weekend 2 headline slot, leaving pop-punk legends blink-182 to fill in?

After a successful surprise appearance during week 1 of the 2023 Coachella festival, pop-punk legends blink-182 are rumored to return to the desert as the new headliner for week 2’s Sunday slot, taking over for Frank Ocean, who is not medically cleared to perform this weekend.

A statement from Frank Ocean’s reps was released and states, “Frank Ocean will not be performing at weekend 2 of Coachella. After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1. Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity. On doctor’s advice, [Frank Ocean] is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”

An unfortunate circumstance for fans of Frank Ocean who were looking forward to the artist’s weekend 2 performance with Ocean himself leaving fans a quick note reading, “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show, but I did enjoy being out there, and I’ll see you soon.”

Upgrading from the Sahara stage to Coachella’s main stage headline slot will likely excite fans of blink-182, as online speculation has already begun on whether the band’s extended performance time will include the band’s fully [as of now] intended setlist for their upcoming summer tour with Turnstile.
