Polaroid Summer Return With New Single, “A Little Bit Closer”

Houston rockers Polaroid Summer are back! This time as an electrifying duo ready for the world to hear their new sound and single, "A Little Bit Closer."

Announcing their return to the alt-pop music scene as an enigmatic duo is Houston-based Polaroid Summer. To celebrate their return to the music scene, vocalist Micaiah Walker and drummer Brian Barrett have released the first taste of new music in the form of their neon-light, dance-party-ready new single, “A Little Bit Closer.”

Working with producer Mike Hart to realize their updated sound, transforming the group’s thematic, Imagine Dragons-esque sound to a more grounded electronic sound that’s sleek and sharp, perfect for midnight rides through the city.

“A Little Bit Closer” is a vibe, and maybe my favorite song I’ve been a part of. Any fan of our old stuff will hear our sound has evolved in a great way, with a lot of credit to our producer Mike Hart. He helped us find our new sound. My voice is probably the only thing that truly holds together our sound before and our sound now. We’ve simplified things and its opened up a cool space our music needed for this new chapter.

Looking to release their first EP as a duo sometime in 2023, Polaroid Summer is making a statement with this first single, “A Little Bit Closer.” Here’s to hoping the rest of the duo’s six-track EP is on the same level, or better, to truly capitalize on their new and exciting direction.
