Still from Mar Vista's music video for "Start Me Up" featuring Kellin Quinn.

Mar Vista Teams Up With Kellin Quinn For His Fun New Single, “Start Me Up”

South Korean producer Mar Vista teams up with Sleeping With Sirens' Kellin Quinn for his fun new single, "Start Me Up."

Sleeping With Sirens frontman Kellin Quinn is entering his SM era as the EMO frontman has joined South Korean producer Mar Vista for his new single, “Start Me Up.” A song that’ll have listeners reminiscing about the good old Dreamcast days and the amazing songs that would be featured on a variety of different video games as kickass theme songs.

Presented by ScreaM Records, a subsidiary of SM Entertainment, the release of “Start Me Up” also brings an amazingly retro-styled music video that pays homage to the likes of Jet Set Radio, Dance Dance Revolution, and a plethora of other video games while bringing the world of Mar Vista’s new single to life in a fun and visually pleasing way.

“Start Me Up” is a fun listen and captured my attention instantly, though at some points jarring, not in a bad way, I’m just not used to hearing Kellin Quinn’s vocals fit perfectly in what would otherwise be a song perfectly prepared for a K-pop group. Further proving that the Sleeping With Siren’s frontman can sing in the capacity of any genre.

With this new single, Mar Vista has my complete attention and I’m already anxious about whatever might come next if there’s even a “next” planned for the near future.
