New York’s haunting storyteller Olive Louise is bringing sparks of light throughout the forever darkness with the release of her new single, “Moroccan Oranges.”
Inspired by her mother’s death, “Moroccan Oranges” is a hauntingly vibrant folk tune that’ll get stuck in your head, like a shadow at midnight, following your senses until you find yourself singing Olive Louise’s new single lyric for lyric.
On making “Moroccan Oranges,” Olive Louise shares, “The song is about the summer I traveled to Morocco and Paris with my dad and sister after my mom passed away. It’s about the dissonance I felt looking at my dad trying to hold it together and make us feel okay, knowing that even though we were seeing stunning views, and trying new foods, and were there together, we felt completely shattered.”
As I mentioned, “Moroccan Oranges” is vibrant and beautiful, creating the perfect backdrop of strength in grief—a haunting masterpiece.
“Moroccan Oranges” is taken off Olive Louise’s debut EP, 275 Kings Point Road. If you enjoyed “Moroccan Oranges,” I highly suggest listening to this fantastic artist’s other tunes. You will not be disappointed.
