Ethereal pop-rock artist Katrina Swift, known as Lilac Haze, is looking to make a massive splash with the release of double singles “The Ghost That I Once Knew” and “Lilac Haze.”
Alongside the release of “The Ghost That I Once Knew” and “Lilac Haze,” Katrina also released a two-part music video beautifully put together by Hugo Merle and Jérôme Bralet. The extended music video subtly complements the themes at play in a beautiful fashion.
Regarding the release of her double singles, Katrina Swift explained, “in December 2021, I wrote “Ghost” after a period of self-reflection during a time when I felt unsure and lost in my new surroundings. It’s a reflection of the loss of innocence as we mature… a farewell to your old self. “Lilac Haze,” however, is a song written for anyone who has been affected by loved ones lost to Alzheimer’s and Dementia.”
Taking inspiration from The Cure, All About Eve, and Eva Cassidy, Katrina Swift quickly makes a name for herself through her haunting releases that I will surely not forget anytime soon.
