Paramore Release New Song “This Is Why,” Announce New Album

Paramore is back! The band's '70s crime-thriller sounding new single, "This Is Why," is an outright banger.

Paramore is back! After about five long years, Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro tempt our senses with their new single, “This Is Why.” The first song from their upcoming studio album of the same name.

Accompanying the release of their new single, Paramore has also teamed up with Turnstile’s Brendan Yates for their new music video filmed in Malibu, CA. A music video that fits the rhyme and rhythm of the single’s overall energy.

Recorded in Los Angeles with Carlos de la Garza (After Laughter, Hayley Williams’ Petals for Armor), “This Is Why,” is a fun ’70s crime-thriller sounding love affair that perfectly ushers in Paramore’s new era of upcoming bangers.

“This Is Why” was the very last song we wrote for the album. To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics but Taylor convinced Zac and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was the title track for the whole album. It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last three or four years. You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.
