Premiere: “I Remember” – Jake SantaLucia

New York’s very own acoustic-pop hopeful Jake SantaLucia is gearing up to officially release his new single “I Remember” later today. But, thanks to the power of the internet and a little bit of friendship we got our hands on the first single off Life’s Not Fair a couple of hours early, and you can stream it right now.

“I Remember” – Jake SantaLucia (Life’s Not Fair)

We actually caught up with Jake SantaLucia last week, and he gave us a little behind the scenes storytime on what inspired “I Remember,” stating; “I Remember” is actually a story about my best friend Tanner, and the struggles he went through while dealing with a breakup. I had written this really neat chorus idea with the basic structure laid out on guitar. So, I came to him with that I had and played it for him and we basically built that song off of his recent relationship because it was a very similar situation to what he had been going through.”

For even more on what inspired SantaLucia’s new emotionally-charged single, make sure you check out our full in-depth interview and learn even more about his upcoming EP, Life’s Not Fair in the process.

“I Remember” took SantaLucia and his producer around four months to complete, with a new delay being set for Life’s Not Fair which will see the upcoming EP transform from a three-track listening experience to a full-blown five-track affair. But, fans won’t have to wait too long as another single titled, “Monuments” should see its release in mid-October.

If you enjoyed “I Remember” head on over to Jake SantaLucia’s official Instagram and Twitter accounts and let him know what you thought, as well as in the comments below. We’ll have our full track-by-track review of “I Remember” ready to go later in the week after we spin the new single a few more times.
