blink-182 Release Fantastic Short Song “Generational Divide”

blink-182 are kicking off summer in a very small way, thanks to new short song: “Generational Divide.” The new forty-nine second single is a wonderful ode to short songs. The song is also a phenomenal jab at internet fans who seem to dislike every direction members Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Matt Skiba are taking the former pop punk band, which are now part of no specific genre.

Having previously released lead single “Blame It On My Youth,” blink-182 brought their bats swinging hard with “Generational Divide,” creating a fast paced, hard hitting, and attention grabbing short song, which is a sound I’ve wanted to hear from these three since first listening to the deluxe edition of their hit album, California.

While talking about their upcoming album, bassist Mark Hoppus stated fans should expect “a lot more aggressive” songs and “darker in theme and tone,” with “Generational Divide” being our first “real” taste of that combination.

If you’re a fan of blink-182’s new single “Generational Divide,” and are looking to catch the boys this summer with Lil Wayne and Neck Deep, you can head over to their official website where you can find tour dates. Did I mention the band will be playing Enema of the State in full? It’s bound to be a fun summer.
