Angels & Airwaves have officially returned with their latest single, “Rebel Girl,” which is the first new taste of music from the space-rock band since 2016’s The Dream Walker. Partnering with label Rise Records, Angels & Airwaves frontman Tom DeLonge describes the new track as: “A space-age love song that combines my enduring obsession for New Wave, pop punk and athemic rock and roll music.”
Continuing, DeLonge also stated, “As some of you might’ve heard, I recently took a brief minute to start up an aerospace company, so you never know – I may play this song from a satellite deep in space, beamed toward everyone’s house viciously on repeat.” A funny sentiment, as having “Rebel Girl” since yesterday, I have to say it’s already insanely stuck in my head.
Alongside, the release of “Rebel Girl” Angels & Airwaves also announced their first tour in almost seven years. A twenty-three date tour that will take Tom DeLonge, David Kennedy, Ilan Rubin, and I’m pretty sure Matt Wachter across a good chunk of the United States. If you want to keep “Rebel Girl” on repeat, you can find it now on any of your favorite streaming services.
