Andy Black Releases “Ghost Of Ohio” Music Video

Andy Black continues his sneak peek extravaganza for his upcoming sophomore album, The Ghost Of Ohio, with the release of his latest music video for title track, “Ghost of Ohio.” The Patrick Fogarty directed music video is a wonderful companion piece for Andy Black’s latest single, capturing perfect vibes and visualizations for a song that’s clearly about personal growth, moving on, and remember where you come from, and Patrick does an amazing job an showcasing all of this and more in the span of about three minutes.

While talking about “Ghost of Ohio,” Andy Black stated: “I grew up in southwestern Ohio and moved to Los Angeles at age 18, I’ve been on the road for essentially my entire adult life but some part of me always has this intrinsic connection to the town I am from and the good and bad times I experienced there. This song and video both represent the idea of viewing your home from the perspective of an outsider. I wanted to explore the idea of what it feels like to be “home” but feel a million miles away even though you’re surrounded by all the things you are most familiar with.”

Continuing, Andy gives a bit more insight on the shooting location of the video: “My grandmother’s birthday happened to fall around the same time we were in Cincinnati filming the video and it was such a great experience getting to spend that day with her. The following day we shot in her house for hours. I’d say about 30 perfect of the video is in her house (attic, back yard, etc.), which is a place I spend a tremendous amount of time as a child. Also, we were able to put photos of both her and my late grandfather in the video which was very special to me! It’s her voice you hear say “he’s the ghost of Ohio” in the outro of the song.”

Having been given Andy Black’s take on “Ghost of Ohio” helps me enjoy the song more than I’ve already been, in which a full review of Andy Black’s latest single will be around much sooner than later. Releasing on April 12, The Ghost Of Ohio will feature twelve tracks and is produced by Grammy nominated producer John Feldmann. Check out the tracklist below and pre-order HERE.
